Our culinary tour in Oaxaca culminated with a visit to Criollo, a restaurant that stands as a testament to Chef Enrique Olvera’s culinary prowess.
As we stepped in, we were greeted by the bustling kitchen, the heartbeat of Criollo.
Here, chefs are the focus, and their passion for cooking is palpable in every dish they create.
The moment we entered Criollo, we were embraced by the charm of its beautiful courtyard.
Courtyard comes complete with wandering chickens that added to the rustic ambiance.
The cocktails were expertly crafted, balancing flavors in a way that was both refreshing and nuanced. The cocktail combines mezcal, ginger, lime, and homemade syrup, uniquely garnished with flying ants (Chicatanas) on the rim for a bold, distinctive flavor.
Tres Leches Cake with a chocolate twist was a heavenly experience. This moist, sweet delight, soaked in three kinds of milk, combined with the rich depth of chocolate, created a luxurious texture and decadent flavor, making each bite a perfect blend of comfort and indulgence.
Criollo is located at Francisco I. Madero 129, Santa María del Marquesado, Centro, 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax.
This ends our Oaxacking journey and we bid farewell to our friends.
