Well, the world cup has finally come to an end _(almost)_. With scores of 1:0 for France vs. Portugal. The next match would be of France vs. Italy at July 10, 2 AM in the morning according to Singapore Time (SGT).

MOst people are crazy over them. Not me though. I don’t really have much idea who’s in or who’s out. The only television shows that my friends watch these days are World Cup related.

Those people who betted on football aren’t really prepared for the surprises. Few would expect Brazil to be out, some of my friends lost money there. And the match where Germany played with France. Most betted for Germany to enter the finals. It’s disappoint for their pockets I guess.

After the world cup ends, perhaps people would take notice of Singapore Idol 2 again, which is seem so nong nong ago.

View it through YouTube.

It seems like no one’s watching the other television shows. I’m still watching Desperate Housewives, Project Runway and Gray’s Anatomy. My friends are watching the Italy match, the German match and the English match. No one seems to be interested on the other things on television at the moment I guess.

In the opening match of soccer’s World Cup Friday, German midfielder Torsten Frings scored an amazing goal from 40 yards out. The ball started off straight and then tailed sharply to the right in the last 10 yards or so. It was an unstoppable shot, but with a different ball it might have been a simple save.

A scientist has explained why a new ball being used in this year’s World Cup is frustrating goalies.

The new Adidas Teamgeist football, as it is called, has 14 panels instead of the 26 or 32 that traditionally create the hexagonal pattern.

Fewer panels means fewer seams, which will make the ball behave more like a baseball, says Ken Bray, a sports scientist at the University of Bath in the UK.

Hmmmp, that’s one for Asian sports I guess. Maybe my friend’s right, we perhaps should give our Asian counterparts more support. Hopefully one day, our Asian friends would get to the top of World Cup; let it not be an Xbox 360 scenario.
