Bud – Swear Jar

Uncategorized

Ahh, I forgot to post this advertisement, a little late to do this posting. But here it is!

Bud – Swear Jar

During Primary School we had this fine thing going on. Basically we get a fine if we scold vulgarities. Every vulgarity you scold forces you to part with your precious coin. It’s a small amount, I don’t think it actually work even. Now I’m wondering what happen to the money. Hmmmp, perhaps the treasurer got hungry and used it to buy candy or something. I don’t remember we had Buds.

There are lots of Gs, Gmail, G-spot, G-whatever. But Google isn’t stopping, it appears that they probably are intending to start GBuy.

*Watch it PayPal – Here Comes GBuy!*

Google is rumored to be making move to enter online payment system, GBuy, since last fall. GBuy would have easy functionality. Just after clicking “Buy” button, credit card information would be entered and payment would be made to sellers.

GBuy. Try reading that out if you’re a Singaporean. I am sure you find that familiar. The kid at your void deck scolded a classmate that. The sergeant at the Basic Military Training school screamed the word at you.

In Hokkien, there was this vulgarity – chee bye. It means ‘vagina’ if I’m not wrong. It’s most affectionally called ‘chao chee bye’ which meant ’smelly vagina’ in English. It’s equivalent to the English word ‘pussy’.

Chee Bye:

To insult like a professional Beng or Lian.
It’s the meaning of insulting a female’s private area.

Note: ‘Beng’ or ‘Lian’ refers to a typical asian ganster in Singapore.

Ah Seng: Hey… Where are you?
Ah Beng: WTF?! CHEE BYE! Can’t you wait?!

Unfortunately, the Americans are probably not aware about it and thought it’s a really cool name! And they’ll start googling on GBuy. And they’ll probably use ‘GBuy’ as a verb – something like – Let’s GBuy this!

I’m sorry, but it just sounded so horrific if it’s launched in Singapore. They can have the localized version too – GBuy Singapore. It just brings a whole new meaning to the online payment service.

I have a question.

Teenager fined £80 for swear word

A teenager is refusing to pay an £80 on-the-spot fine imposed by a police officer who overheard him swearing in a private conversation with friends.

Kurt Walker, 18, from Deal, Kent, said he would go to court rather than pay the fine handed out in a town park.

He said he received the fixed-penalty notice after he used the F-word to a group of friends he met in the park.

Baby points middle finger. Censored.

(Baby points middle finger. Censored already so please don’t fine me.)

And so… Can someone clears my doubt – is swearing with the F-word illegal? And if it is, can you report people who scold the F-word in Singapore?

[Sorry, I just thought we can fine half of the people serving national service.] (more…)
