Bill O’Reilly is getting angrier these days and what reasons probably due to age and falling TV ratings which he has blame Countdown’s Olbermann and Neilson ratings on some sort of a conspiracy.

I find funny O’Reilly complains, “the bottom line on this is there may be some big-time cheating going on in the ratings system, and we hope the Feds would investigate. Any fraud in the television rating system affects all American.”

He drags all Americans into the picture now. Honestly who is that concern with television ratings? Probably just Fox News and Bill O’Reilly.

O’Reilly Blames Olbermann’s & MSNBC’s Ratings Climb On Wide Spread Conspiracy

Bill O’Reilly is the main reason why I didn’t like Fox News. That guy’s just crap and he has the 8 o’clock time slot. You could turn on the TV to laugh at him if you’re really bored and watch him DO IT LIVE!

You Accidentally Swallow About 8 Spiders a Year: Back in 1993, people were already getting fooled by online urban legends at an amusing rate. So, a columnist for PC Professional named Lisa Holst decided to prove that you could make up anything on the internet and people would believe it. (I guess everyone can sleep well tonight already.)

You Only Use 10% of Your Brain: I knew this is totally nonsense because I don’t find brains that useful.

You Must Wait 30 Minutes After Eating Before Swimming: This somehow spread to my mom and she is a firm believer in a 30-minute wait at the swimming pool if something was eaten.

Read more at Cracked.

I always hear strange unverified statistics. You can’t possibly get your friends to include a source in whatever they say. But sometimes, I wish they did. My mom tells me the strangest statistics and health tips. We really shouldn’t go into that.

Google rolls out new version of Google Analytics and it’s looking better than ever!

What is new?

In the new version, your reports have been redesigned for clarity, greater visibility of important metrics, and ease of use. Here are just a few of the features you’ll notice:

Email and export reports: Schedule or send ad-hoc personalized report emails and export reports in PDF format.

Custom Dashboard: No more digging through reports. Put all the information you need on a custom dashboard that you can email to others.

Trend and Over-time Graph: Compare time periods and select date ranges without losing sight of long term trends.

Contextual help tips: Context sensitive Help and Conversion University tips are available from every report.

The new interface has everything the previous interface had and more. In addition, links within reports make it easier to navigate related information and explore your data. (The above is from an email that Google sent me.)

Anyway, let’s take a visual tour of the new interface.

The interface undergoes a tremendous update, first of all. It looks much cleaner, much sleeker and feels faster. I’ll share with you some site statistics meanwhile.

From the above chart, you can see where my visitors are coming from. Not many people come from Asia and the reason is that most people come to this blog for images. I mean, they even took image of my brother’s birthday cake and post it on blogs to wish their friends happy birthday, wish they at least link back sometimes. I don’t block hot linking but I discourage hot-linking by placing a watermark on all my images.

Setting date ranges are a lot easier now. And the charts look so pretty!

These are my top 10 referrers excluding Google, it shows me where most people come from asides Google images.

What’s really surprising is that more people use Firefox than Internet Explorer to view my blog. I thought it would be the other way round. Personally, I use Opera and it amounts to only 3.3% of the visitors, of which 2.8% is probably just me. I love the pie chart view

And everyone’s favorite search engine is the number one source of my blog.

Google Analytics is the best site analytical tool that’s free. It’s looking better and easier to use now. I also use AWStats to view my statistics but Google is able to look at my blog statistics a lot better. AWStats just show the combined statistics of every things on my website, including this blog. What made me go back to AWStats is the bandwidth tools, it can analyze how much MBs are consumed per day. And I can tell you that AWStats report browser statistics different, AWStats thinks Internet Explorer is number one. I’m not sure who is right though.

With all the cool tools for site analyzation, Google Analytics is the best free product around, I give it a 4.5 upon 5. I couldn’t give full marks it keeps popping up with random errors when I go around testing it.

_(Search statistics from May 2 to June 1.)_

The image is generated using Microsoft Excel 2007. Very pretty colors and anti-alias. Here’s a top 20 list of who search what last month.

*Top 20 searches during May*

# mizuki yoshii – 229
# breast – 78
# kurohige kiki ippatsu – 56
# mizuki furui – 41
# playstation 3 – 37
# breast feeding – 36
# saaya irie – 34
# japanese lyrics – 32
# fiona xie bra – 30
# jay chou – 27
# james gomez – 25
# create winks – 20
# judson laipply – 20
# create msn winks – 18
# fiona xie bra blog – 18
# beconfused.com – 18
# I not stupid too – 15
# beconfused – 14
# shizuka umemoto – 13
# ann kok bra – 12

You know, I kinda get uneasy when people search for “beconfused” and “beconfused.com”. I wonder why are people try to search for those. People are always searching for “breast” somehow.

_(Visits and Page view statistics from May 2 to June 1.)_

I use Google Analytics now because it tracks real visitors better. Previous I use AWStats which is also very good. Unfortunately AWStats track people who link directly to my images too. I am not interested in those visitors too.

Of course, this is just for fun only and shouldn’t be taken seriously. My blog is worth 16K? That’s great. But I doubt that’s accurate. I don’t think anyone would buy it for more than 100 bucks.

Wow, looks like more than a hundred million unique visitors visit Yahoo!, I think Yahoo! has one of the best content. I am not surprised that people are willing to spend time there. Google’s just a search engine mainly despite them trying to enter all sorts of markets. As for MSN, they got to improve their content.

I’m a little surprise to see the time spent in Amazon’s web site though. I thought people would have spend more time there. I guess they just aren’t interested to buy their stuff. The highest jumper is probably MySpace, which is now the top social-networking web site.

On the month of April, I have 26119 unique visitors with the majority just interested in some images in my blog. And 84.9% leave my site within 30 seconds.

I haven’t tried it as I don’t have a phone that can actually do that. Anybody tried viewing my blog in a mobile phone?

Once in a while, I’ll just dig out statistics and view keyphrases. Keyphrases are what people are searching this the search engines to get to my blog. So I wondered how my blog can be connected to the world.

But this time, I found that some men are searching for the strangest things! In no particular order:

* singapore girls wearing bikini
* ericia lee maxim
* fiona xie in own bikini
* zoe tay wearing bikini
* ann kok in bikini
* archive of fhm singapore

See, it’s all about the bikini’s. And I don’t have search things, the nearest is probably Ann Kok stripping to her bra. It’s quite funny to see what local people are searching. Most people include Fiona Xie into their searches because she’s the hotter one and she once ran in bikini in Orchard Road for a drama series about <del datetime="2006-04-09T23:29:26+00:00">bikini</del> swimming.

Then there are people who seem to be searching for some sex-related videos of Singaporean women:

* singapore college student caught in act
* singapore phone video clip student
* sex singapore bukit batok
* polytechnic student caught in video
* singapore student video

This is probably with regards to the now famous Tammy incident. Tammy is a 17 year old polytechnic girl who lost her phone with video clips of herself having oral, normal and anal sex with her boyfriend. I didn’t even want to talk about it when the outrageous video clip got the attention of our media on Febuary, I’m tired of the news so you didn’t see any news in my blog on this. And trust me, I don’t have the Tammy video, perhaps you guys can try other web sites instead.

And finally, some men just prefer artwork:

* ragnarok cute female pictures

I do have Ragnarok pictures that I thought was quite cute – ones that my friend gave me when he married a character in the game.

_(My friend Daniel’s online wedding images in the game. I thought that’s a pretty cute feature. Image used with Daniel’s permission.)_

[Apologies to the crazy pingbacks in my blog, some scripts of mine went wrong.]

My blog grew larger by each post and comment submited and I end up changing categories once in a while. January 2006 has seen 22347 unique visitors, 267962 hits and used 2.42 GB of bandwidth. January 2006's statistics gotten prettier as compared to December 2005's. But unfortunately my statistics are not accurate since my site is counting each person who hotlink my image only as a unique visitor!

I’m been updating parts of my blog to better categorize my posts. I don’t have very good organizational skills apparently but I’m trying hard to manage my posts, migrating them around the categories and looking through to see if there are any information I ought not to write.

My blog grew larger by each post and comment submited and I end up changing categories once in a while. January 2006 has seen 22347 unique visitors, 267962 hits and used 2.42 GB of bandwidth. January 2006’s statistics gotten prettier as compared to December 2005’s. But unfortunately my statistics are not accurate since my site is counting each person who hotlink my image only as a unique visitor!

The favorite days to come are Mondays and Fridays. People hate coming to my site on Sundays, I guess they’re out with their family and friends. January caught more spam than any other month too. About 200 I think.

Every month, my blog uses 2.42 GB of bandwidth which is about 12% of my available bandwidth. I gotta start to conserve already. I won’t prevent hotlinking of images at the moment. I plan to post images with a //beconfused logo on the bottom right of all the images I posted in future in hopes of discouraging people from using my bandwidth. I am aware many sites are using my images. The drastic measure would be to ban all external sites from using my images, but I don’t want to spoil the links of others.

Sorry for those annoying recent comments though, the old posts are trying to send pings and they start pinging //beconfused’s own posts.

I found this niffy tool that can tell you the Google PageRank(tm) without having to download the Google toolbar. [Read my Google Toolbar 3 review.]

You just need to paste the following code in your site and it’ll tell you your PageRank(tm):

For example, //beconfused has a PageRank(tm) of 5/10:

It’s a great tool for all statistics-obsessed webmasters. Admittedly, that would include me.

And speaking of Google, would you mind helping the poor [er... that would be me] a little and click on the advertisements around my blog? It would help a lot. Please? It’s located in the side bar, sometimes it’s at the top and bottom, you’ll see it if you scroll around. I hope to be able to cover my entire web hosting cost with advertisements. A click would do. Thanks in advance.

This is my 500th post. I have been blogging for almost 2 years already. That means I blog around 5 times a week roughly which is not excessive I think.

_(Before I write this post, there are 499 posts; this makes this post the 500^th^.)_

I start constructing this layout since a really long time ago actually. There has been a lot of changes and alterations to this layout. It’s structure is largely based on the wonderful Kubrick that comes with WordPress. It has all the good stuff there already and I don’t see a need to rewrite the whole CSS to make things be original.

I called the layout ‘Lintfree’.

It is a rather strange name to have, it is not even in the dictionary. So what exactly is ‘lintfree’? Well, firstly, I will have to explain what is ‘lint’. In my favorite Longman dictionary, lint is soft light pieces of thread or wool that come off cotton, wool or other material. I view lint as the tiny little bits that come of tissue paper when you try to do cleaning. This can be a problem if you try to clean things like camera lens, it would seemed as if the more you clean, the messier it gets.

There is a special type of tissue paper called lint-free tissue paper. This special type of paper will not make your camera lens have tiny bits of white spots that the normal tissue paper would give. You can even wet the lint-free paper and click your lens and you just won’t get any lint on your lens. Personally, I use one of those for microscopes.

By calling this layout ‘lintfree’, I aim it to be neater, cleaner, more polished than the previous. And hopefully, like the lint-free paper, it wouldn’t leave lint around.

Read more about Lintfree.

I welcome criticism on Lintfree. Do tell me if you love it or hate it.

These are the statistics of the month April. This time is quite a shock because there is a significant increase of visitors from search engine and I know god-damn well why.

There are many people coming in to search for MSN winks. I can’t believe that simple word can attract so many people. This MSN winks page of mine is the most viewed page now, more than my RSS feed, with a viewership of 2142 times. The reason is due to the MSN search engine placing me right at the top in the past. Well, it dropped.

And visitors are coming into my web site looking for tits. Well… I did mention those nice tits I supposed. They are great looking tits according to the webmaster. [Hint: The tits aren't what you think they are.]

Top 20 keyphrases used on search engines (number of hits parenthesized):

# msn winks (637)
# msn winks download (108)
# winks msn (99)
# download msn winks (80)
# tits (67)
# winks (63)
# msn messenger winks (62)
# kung foo hustle trailer (52)
# winks for msn (51)
# nice tits (46)
# create winks (37)
# kung foo hustle (22)
# incredible popeman (22)
# nicetits (20)
# malaysia idol (19)
# create msn winks (18)
# winks for msn messenger (16)
# more msn winks (16)
# sylvester sim (16)
# japanese lyrics (14)

[View March keyphrases.]

I doubt that I will be achieving the same number of visitors the next month. The whole crazy MSN winks thing has ended. I received a significant visitor drop already. It’s kind of sad. I have to admit I love visitors (and commenters). Oh well…

Perhaps I really am addicted to blogging. Sometimes I have something to do, I just feel like blogging. It can be important work. I need to work and submit something. In the end, I posted something in my blog still. Then I’ll go to other blogs and read here and there. After a while, I look at my clock – an hour is gone.

I read about people being obsessed with blogging at Jessica’s blog and I figure out that I probably have this problem too. Just that I am not as serious a problem as Justin Hall.

I like statistics. I just view them again. Jessica, you’re not alone. I am one statistics freak too. I look at where my visitors is coming about every two days. I found statistics exciting (oh god, save me).

I especially enjoyed reading through what my visitors search to come to my page. Looking at keyphrases is a lot of fun sometimes. My top 9 keyphrases:

# msn winks (64)
# msn winks download (22)
# winks msn (12)
# barbra mcclintock (11)
# nude star in japan and their pictures (10) [I don't have such a thing... unfortunately.]
# sylvester sim (9)
# corey zappo (9)
# download msn winks (9)
# singapore school holiday (7)

Some strange ones include:

* what are the a affected part of computer i love you virus affect?
* horny aries woman
* pictures of kazuki with his strings from the get backers [er.. G-strings?]
* nonsense joke
* funny shaped breasts [I laugh out loud when I saw this!]
* bangladeshi funeral practices
* kennedy president science prata
* singapore anthem wmv
* free kfc mini fillet burger download
* news reports of singaporeans taking part drills for earthquakes [We don't have earthquakes.]

I swear these are from my site statistics! With statistics as such, don’t blame me if I am addicted to viewing statistics.

By the way, a little WordPress thing to share. I was quite annoyed when my trackback refuses to work. I keep tracking back my blogs and nothing works. I tried it on several web sites too. In the end, I drop by the WordPress forum and found the answer. To fix the strange trackback problem, download
functions.php
from WordPress’s site and replace your current on in
/wp-includes/functions.php
. Of course, do back up before you do such things. That fixed my problem.

Cow & Gate did a survey and concluded this:

**One in three dads try breastmilk**

One in three new dads in Britain admit to trying their partner’s breastmilk.

Cow & Gate undertook a poll of 1,690 men to discover their attitudes on breastfeeding.

They say the results explode the myth that fathers feel excluded when their partner breastfeeds a new baby.

Not only did 74% of all men say they felt included, but a third admitted to trying their partner’s breastmilk.

The majority of those who have tasted breastmilk (69%) were found in East Anglia – nearly three times the number found in Greater London (25%) and more than double those interviewed in the North (29%).

Interestingly none of the men surveyed in the North or Scotland would actually deny tasting their partner’s milk but those in the South were more reserved.

Dr Natasha Bye, Head of Scientific Affairs at Cow & Gate, said: “Cow & Gate is encouraged to see that fathers are supporting their partners in the choice to breastfeed as breastfeeding is best for babies and provides many benefits.”

Actually, I am not that surprise. The only wonder I have is if they taste it from a cup or…

Occasionally I will pop open a new window and check out how my blog is doing statistically. I do find them quite interesting. My blog isn’t doing as well the previous one. It takes time you see. Furthermore, this blog is not listed in Google, only in Yahoo!, not that I mind of course.

Site Statistics (August 01 to today)

Unique visitors: 274
Pages served: 8127
Bandwidth: 225 MB
Favorite day to visit: Thursday (I thought this is rather interesting, I wonder what’s with Thursday)
Most visited by these spider/robots: Inktomi Slurp (Yahoo!), Jeeves, Googlebot (Google)
Number of visitors who found //beconfused through a search engine: Yahoo! (with 108)
Top keyword: Singapore (8%)

So as you can see, “Singapore” is the top keyword. It makes me want to concentrate on blogging about Singapore. I won’t restrict myself though. But I supposed you can expect more content that is related to Singapore. Maybe I’ll make this into a “Singapore Blog”. It sounds weird though. “Singaporean blog” doesn’t sound right either.

I haven’t been blogging this few days. Let me explain myself. Well, I have been quite tired recently. Not tired of this blog. But tired generally speaking. I returned home and tell myself that I am going to have a little rest on my comfortable bed. It must have been too comfortable or something, because after minutes of having that thought, I fell asleep.

And when I open my eyes, it’s morning and it’s time for school.

So the global browser statistics are out (again). OneStat.com conducted a survey on the global browser market. The winner is not of any surprise, with Microsoft Internet Explorer conquering 94.8% of the market.

The current leading browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, seeing their percentages increased by 1.8% from 66.3% of July 2003 to 68.1% of January 2004.

Newcomer Apple Safari has seen a slight increase of 0.23% from 0.25% of July 2003 to 0.48% of January 2004. Soon it’ll be displacing Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 with a 0.7% share of the market.

Mozilla has also seen some growth, with lots of technology geeks showing support for their Firebird browser. With 1.8% of the browser share, they have got lots of catching up to do, but these things take time. Individual statistics of Mozilla software, like Netscape, Firebird, Thunderbird and other possibly birds, are not provided.

Microsoft IE 6.0 – 68.1%

Microsoft IE 5.5 – 13.8%

Microsoft IE 5.0 – 11.8%

Mozilla – 1.8%

Opera 7.0 – 0.8%

Microsoft IE 4.0 – 0.7%

Apple Safari – 0.48%

You’ve seen it, Microsoft Internet Explorer is still number one. As for the moment, no browser can substitute Internet Explorer. It is still the browser to generate most codes correctly, just simply because most webmasters test their pages on Internet Explorer only. It’s the thought of why should I waste my time to test on other browsers.

There are a few reason Microsoft won this game. First of all,Internet Explorer become free years ago, causing Netscape to suffer loses. [Netscape used not to be a free browser.] Then Microsoft bundle it with Windows, and claimed Internet Explorer is Windows, so they can’t remove the browser when the operating system. Plus, Netscapekilled themselves by not ironing the bugs in Netscape 4.0 before it is released. Microsoft added lots of additions into Internet Explorer which is not supported by other browsers.

By the way, Internet Explorer is the most non-standard browser I ever seen. I see many web sites with semi-transparent layers and colored scrollbars. I just want to let you people know that I can’t see those stuff with Firebird (Mozilla).

Anyway, Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 2 will be out soon, with an in-built pop up stopper, I think they are the last to adopt that feature. Microsoft has finally awoken..
