Now every time I tried to blog through Digg, I encounter this error message. It is probably something to do with my WordPress XMLPRC file but I overwritten it again and it still didn’t work.
Error From Your Blog

I am kinda stuck already. It’s so easy to blog through Digg and it’s unfortunate that I can’t do so anymore. I am using WordPress 2.2.1, it’s the latest version of WordPress. Blogging via Digg used to work before I upgraded from WordPress 2.2 to WordPress 2.2.1. It just stop working after that upgrade.
WordPress 2.2.1 is made available and //beconfused is going down for a while just to do some updates. Just down for a minute I hope. See you!
[//beconfused is up again. I think I just perfected the skill of upgrading WordPress. Still, there's really got to be an easier way.]
Google rolls out new version of Google Analytics and it’s looking better than ever!
What is new?
In the new version, your reports have been redesigned for clarity, greater visibility of important metrics, and ease of use. Here are just a few of the features you’ll notice:
- Email and export reports: Schedule or send ad-hoc personalized report emails and export reports in PDF format.
- Custom Dashboard: No more digging through reports. Put all the information you need on a custom dashboard that you can email to others.
- Trend and Over-time Graph: Compare time periods and select date ranges without losing sight of long term trends.
- Contextual help tips: Context sensitive Help and Conversion University tips are available from every report.
The new interface has everything the previous interface had and more. In addition, links within reports make it easier to navigate related information and explore your data. (The above is from an email that Google sent me.)
Anyway, let’s take a visual tour of the new interface.

The interface undergoes a tremendous update, first of all. It looks much cleaner, much sleeker and feels faster. I’ll share with you some site statistics meanwhile.

From the above chart, you can see where my visitors are coming from. Not many people come from Asia and the reason is that most people come to this blog for images. I mean, they even took image of my brother’s birthday cake and post it on blogs to wish their friends happy birthday, wish they at least link back sometimes. I don’t block hot linking but I discourage hot-linking by placing a watermark on all my images. (more…)
The network is rather slow right now. There are some network issues in Asia due to Japan-to-USA overseas cable issues. I had a really hard time upgrading WordPress, my FTP connection gets disconnects every now and then, thankfully it would auto resume and upload after a reconnection.
The internet has been around for several decades and I thought it would have been robust enough to overcome such problems by going through an alternate route. But it only seems to me that while browser technology and broadband gets adopted faster and faster, the underlying cables probably aren’t able to catch up or something.
We now demand faster downloads, we scream when a 30Mbps connection isn’t transfering just as fast. I think it’s time to stop inflating the bloody bandwidth value and lie more cables!
Unfortunately, tagging isn’t ready in WordPress 2.2. The following are the highlights of WordPress 2.2:
- WordPress Widgets allow you to easily rearrange and customize areas of your weblog (usually sidebars) with drag-and-drop simplicity. This functionality was originally available as a plugin Widgets are now included by default in the core code, significantly cleaned up, and enabled for the default themes.
- Full Atom support, including updating our Atom feeds to use the 1.0 standard spec and including an implementation of the Atom Publishing API to complement our XML-RPC interface.
- A new Blogger importer that is able to handle the latest version of Google’s Blogger product and seamlessly import posts and comments without any user interaction beyond entering your login.
- Infinite comment stream, meaning that on your Edit Comments page when you delete or spam a comment using the AJAX links under each comment it will bring in another comment in the background so you always have 20 items on the page. (I know it sounds geeky, but try it!)
- We now protect you from activating a plugin or editing a file that will break your blog.
- Core plugin and filter speed optimizations should make everything feel a bit more snappy and lighter on your server.
- We’ve added a hook for WYSIWYG support in a future version of Safari.
Yay! Okay, I didn’t type the above, you can read more from WordPress.org blog. //beconfused will be down for an upgrade at 2 AM SGT. It would be a quick update, probably 5 minutes of downtime.
Download the new WordPress 2.2 now.
[Just a tiny note: Update is complete and everything's working quite fine.]
Ah crap… Google sent me a email.
Hello XXX,
It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s). In the future, we may adjust your payment for any days during which invalid clicks occurred in order to properly credit advertisers for any invalid activity.
As a reminder, any method of generating invalid clicks is strictly prohibited. Invalid clicks include but are not limited to any clicks that are generated through the use of robots, automated clicking tools, manual clicks by a publisher on the publisher’s own web pages, or a publisher encouraging others to click on his ads.

Only click on advertisements you guys genuinely are interested in. Thanks for clicking on my advertisements. Google Adsense program help me pay my bills and is quite crucial to the survival of this blog. In the past, I encouraged people verbally to click on my Google ads, I’m not sure of anyone still doing so, but I realized it is in violation of the terms and conditions. So forget what I told you guys last time. Only click on advertisements that you’re genuinely interested in. Domo arigato gozaimasu! Thanks a million.
Just a short note. All the previous feed links through beconfused.com has been redirected to FeedBurner. It is to save bandwidth and consolidate some the statistics.

Thanks!
