singapore//searches

Uncategorized

Once in a while, I’ll just dig out statistics and view keyphrases. Keyphrases are what people are searching this the search engines to get to my blog. So I wondered how my blog can be connected to the world.

But this time, I found that some men are searching for the strangest things! In no particular order:

* singapore girls wearing bikini
* ericia lee maxim
* fiona xie in own bikini
* zoe tay wearing bikini
* ann kok in bikini
* archive of fhm singapore

See, it’s all about the bikini’s. And I don’t have search things, the nearest is probably Ann Kok stripping to her bra. It’s quite funny to see what local people are searching. Most people include Fiona Xie into their searches because she’s the hotter one and she once ran in bikini in Orchard Road for a drama series about bikini swimming.

Then there are people who seem to be searching for some sex-related videos of Singaporean women:

* singapore college student caught in act
* singapore phone video clip student
* sex singapore bukit batok
* polytechnic student caught in video
* singapore student video

This is probably with regards to the now famous Tammy incident. Tammy is a 17 year old polytechnic girl who lost her phone with video clips of herself having oral, normal and anal sex with her boyfriend. I didn’t even want to talk about it when the outrageous video clip got the attention of our media on Febuary, I’m tired of the news so you didn’t see any news in my blog on this. And trust me, I don’t have the Tammy video, perhaps you guys can try other web sites instead.

And finally, some men just prefer artwork:

* ragnarok cute female pictures

I do have Ragnarok pictures that I thought was quite cute - ones that my friend gave me when he married a character in the game.

My friend Daniel's online wedding images in the game. I thought that's a pretty cute feature. Image used with Daniel's permission.

[Apologies to the crazy pingbacks in my blog, some scripts of mine went wrong.]

Altavista Founder Dies

Flaherty died March 16 of a heart attack at his home in Belmont, Calif., about 20 miles south of San Francisco, family members said Friday.

It’s kinda sad if you point your browser to Altavista.com for some sort of information regarding the founder. They apparrently made no mention of Flaherty’s death.

Altavista was my favorite search engine back then when it was still under Compaq. It was still pretty good, back then it was Yahoo! and Altavista for me. It’s sad to see Altavista’s condition right now. (As of now, Altavista is part of Overture, which is now part of Yahoo!.)

Rest in peace.

Google launches something new again - Blog Search. Currently in Beta - as are many Google products anyway - Google Blog Search does what its name imply.

Google Blog Search allows the user to search through many many blogs including the one that you are currently viewing. I given it a try and it would seem like just the normal Google search that filters blogs in. It’s kinda unnecessary to create this tool in my opinion.

Try Google Blog Search now.

google//beconfused

Uncategorized

Okay, this is perhaps kind of useless but I’ll try this anyway. It’s to use Google to search //beconfused and it works quite like the wordpress search, just that it is better.

I doubt that anyone would perform a search in my site though. I just saw this feature the other day and decided to give it a try. The main point of this search is to search the contents in the web and there are some advertisements that would appear if you have noticed. If you click on those advertisements, I will earn some cents to cover my web hosting cost. Well, I know it’s quite insignificant but every little bit counts. :)

The default WordPress search will still be there, the Google search acts as an alternative and extra cash for me. Hopefully this can even out the amount of money I spend in web hosting. Tell me what you think of this search.

Out of curiosity, I searched “Mr. Dew” on MSN Search through NineMSN.

I did not top the list but something else caught my attention.

Register free on eBay Australia.
Buy or sell “Mr. Dew” - great range and value at www.ebay.com.au.

This is what I see right at the bottom of my search. It only happens when I search at NineMSN and not the main MSN search. Who would like to buy me anyway.

search//statistics

Uncategorized

Perhaps I really am addicted to blogging. Sometimes I have something to do, I just feel like blogging. It can be important work. I need to work and submit something. In the end, I posted something in my blog still. Then I’ll go to other blogs and read here and there. After a while, I look at my clock - an hour is gone.

I read about people being obsessed with blogging at Jessica’s blog and I figure out that I probably have this problem too. Just that I am not as serious a problem as Justin Hall.

I like statistics. I just view them again. Jessica, you’re not alone. I am one statistics freak too. I look at where my visitors is coming about every two days. I found statistics exciting (oh god, save me).

I especially enjoyed reading through what my visitors search to come to my page. Looking at keyphrases is a lot of fun sometimes. My top 9 keyphrases:

# msn winks (64)
# msn winks download (22)
# winks msn (12)
# barbra mcclintock (11)
# nude star in japan and their pictures (10) [I don't have such a thing... unfortunately.]
# sylvester sim (9)
# corey zappo (9)
# download msn winks (9)
# singapore school holiday (7)

Some strange ones include:

* what are the a affected part of computer i love you virus affect?
* horny aries woman
* pictures of kazuki with his strings from the get backers [er.. G-strings?]
* nonsense joke
* funny shaped breasts [I laugh out loud when I saw this!]
* bangladeshi funeral practices
* kennedy president science prata
* singapore anthem wmv
* free kfc mini fillet burger download
* news reports of singaporeans taking part drills for earthquakes [We don't have earthquakes.]

I swear these are from my site statistics! With statistics as such, don’t blame me if I am addicted to viewing statistics.

By the way, a little WordPress thing to share. I was quite annoyed when my trackback refuses to work. I keep tracking back my blogs and nothing works. I tried it on several web sites too. In the end, I drop by the WordPress forum and found the answer. To fix the strange trackback problem, download functions.php from WordPress’s site and replace your current on in /wp-includes/functions.php. Of course, do back up before you do such things. That fixed my problem.

msn//design

Uncategorized

MSN.com is allowing users to preview their new design. The new MSN.com sports 2 colors, a white one (Simple White) and a traditional blue (Classic Blue) one.

The new MSN.com design in white.(Look! New colors, much cleaner, loads faster. But still too much information in one page.)

I like the new Simple White theme. It looks clean and neat. Still the usual 3 column interface which is good to cramp as much information as possible into a page.

My only complaint is - too much information. ‘Popular Searches’ could be simplified. ‘Also on MSN’ is kinda redundant too. The top light blue bar that has the tiny advertisement shouldn’t be there too. The users won’t take note of it and MSN.com would look prettier without it. Side menu bar should be shorter and the ‘MSN Services’ can be slotted there.

The search area. Yes, it’s very well done but it kinda looks like a rip off from Yahoo.com, just that it has cooler colors. Microsoft, you really should be more creative. ‘Encarta’ shouldn’t be one of the categories of search too. And what’s with the text ‘Select a category’? It’s crap. Users aren’t that stupid.

I notice the famous .NET Sign in button is gone. It’s just a small text telling the user to sign in. It’s much better this way. It looks simpler and users won’t mistaken MSN.com as some exclusive site that you have to log in to get the content kinda thing. Good job on that. [I think Microsoft is playing down the whole Passport thingy.]

It is much neater now. But it could have been neater. Could have been better. There is certainly room for improvement. And one last thing - I hate it when I can’t god-damn copy text from your MSN.com with Internet Explorer. I have to type ‘Select a category’ myself, do you know how hard that is?! It’s 3 words long! Damn, get that fixed.
