The kid calls 911 to ask the police a math question, it’s pretty cute. I wonder if it actually happened.

The police phone operator is cool about it too and attempts to help the kid learn.

Yay, let’s write something more cheery.
I bought a Samsung Ultra Edition 10.4 U600 from SingTel. They’ll send me coming Wednesday if things go correct and I can go around fluanting my new phone. I never really bought phones that I really like. This is perhaps the first phone that I bought that scored high marks in the looks department. My previous phones are okay, they aren’t ugly but this is just too pretty. My previous phones are okay, they aren’t ugly but this is just too pretty.
Let’s see, did you know today it’s 070707. It makes a good day to be happy about. Perhaps it’ll be your lucky day today. A friend is launching a company today, and I’m aware Live Earth is happening too. If you missed this year’s nice number, you can always wait for 080808, or 090909 or 101010 or 111111 (cool!) or 121212. But they will not be a 131313 of course and you’ll have to wait a century to see these nice numbers again. So treasure these dates and start planning ahead for event to occur then.
And my little hamster seems to be less scared of me already. It still tries to bite my fingers sometimes but I never got bitten till there’s blood now. Perhaps it’s just that I learnt how to handle it better. Maybe it just gotten used to the human hand.
Oh, I just went to Sim Lim too, I got a power supply unit to fix somebody’s computer. It was a good price at SG$63, it’s a CoolerMaster Extreme Power 430 Watts and it’s black and cool. The customer was concern with overheating and I recommended CoolerMaster because it sounds like it won’t overheat since it’s supposed to be a master in being cool. I like the packaging, CoolerMaster put in good effort to package a quality product.
Okay, now I am happier already. Time to go to bed. It’s almost 3 in the morning and I’m staring at some bank statements wondering where my money went to. It isn’t exactly most encouraging. Have a good 070707 day ahead.
The Apple iPhone has been released! Check out some of the pictures I have found from Engadget.

This is the side view of the Apple iPhone. It’s not the thinnest but I like Apple’s attempt to make it look thin. It does look pretty thin from the sides. I feel like touching one now.

This is what you see when you flip your Apple iPhone behind. It’s got a really shiny Apple logo that doubles up as a mirror so you can stare into the Apple logo and find yourself in it. Apple has you in the iPhone, be hypnotize by Apple.

This probably uses the Google Earth maps. But it does look very functional. It would be cool to have mapping features on the phone although I don’t particularly find satellite maps very useful. A normal vector map would be better. I think it should be in the iPhone too.
iPhone just got released in the USA hours ago. It probably won’t be coming to Singapore so Singaporeans would probably go for Meizu phones. It does look nice to have though.
The iPhone is quite costly though – US$499 for a 4GB, US$599 for a 8GB both with 2-year Cingular phone plan contracts. That works out to be SG$763 and SG$ 917 respectively (using conversion rate US$1 = SG$1.53100) and Only Cingular carries iPhone.
Engadget did an unboxing hours ago and took lots of pictures and shared it online. So check them out yeah?
Just in case you guys aren’t aware – the Apple iPhone is going to be launched in about 3 days! On June 29, 2007. So watch out for it yeah? Oh yeah, it won’t be in Singapore. But still something worthy to watch for.
YouTube in iPhone
For Americans, I think you need a Cingular line to buy the Apple iPhone. I wouldn’t recommend rushing for the first generation though. Anyway, I still prefer Conan’s iPhone advertisement.
China demands standardized cellphone chargers! It’s one demand that makes perfect sense. One of my annoyances during national service is to forget my charge and no one has my phone’s charger!
I am using a Samsung phone and it’s so unique that other Samsung phone users don’t have my charger too. There should have standardized it damn long ago. It would be great if it uses the small USB port for charging. Charging from a computer would be a whole lot easier.
Unified chargers for all cell phones in China
Cell phone manufacturers will have to implant unified access on one side the chargers that can be connected to all brands of cell phones, the People’s Daily said on its Website, citing a standard issued by China’s Ministry of Information Industry yesterday.
The access is close to the principle of a Universal Serial Bus (USB), said the report.
“The standard will stop the waste of cell phone chargers dating back to the time when a charger could serve only one brand of cell phone, or even one type of phone in the brand,” said an official with the ministry.
“It will also lower the cost of cell phones and reduce electronic waste,” the official said.

I hope Singapore would adopt this too.

This is gross.
Cell Phones Found Inside Four Prisoners
Capt. Juan Ramon Arevalo, director of the Zacatras prison, said the gang members had introduced the cell phones, wrapped in plastic bags, into their bodies through their anuses. The phones were relatively small – about as long as an adult forefinger.
Authorities also found nine cell phone chips, each slightly larger than a fingernail, and one charger.
“Each one had a cellular with a number of chips,” Arevalo said, adding that one also had hidden a charger in his anal cavity.

And how did they escape from detection for so long? Well, the phones might just be set to – ahem – vibration mode. Think twice before buying a used handphone, hahaa…

Okay, I actually gotten myself a new phone. I have been thinking about getting a new phone since a year ago but I just can’t decide what to get for myself.
I am always cursing each new camera phone that come out. I don’t like them. I think camera phones are nothing more than a gimmick to re-attract people to purchase new phones.
Today, I returned back home with Nokia 7260. I lost. I bought a camera phone. There are simply too many camera phones and I want a phone that is affordable. I zoomed into 2 Nokia phones in the end. Well, you can say that I am not not really a fan of clam-shaped phones.
I choose Nokia phones because I can’t be bothered to relearn the interfaces of a rival companies. I’m too lazy you see.
Nokia 6021 has nice buttons, I want functionality and cared little about the design. Nokia 6021 does not come with a camera but comes with blue tooth which I don’t really want. Nokia 7260 has an extra bonus which is the radio. I chose it in the end.
Both are good phones to me. Couple phone, lol… I haven’t charge up my new phone though. I’ll go to the army with my old phone, I’ll play with my new phone when I return next week. I am kinda tempted over the new toy I bought… But then, there isn’t no time for me to charge it anyway.
Enjoy your week, people. I’m leaving for army soon. I am likely to be returning on next Saturday, 23 July. Gotta rush, see you guys soon. I’ll show you guys a picture of my phone next week, my bloody FTP is down, my Cpanel is down too. What the hell is happening.
