What men watch for in The Price is Right

Entertain Me

I never liked the price is right. I don’t really look at the prices of things before I set to buy it. I am probably cheated many times but I can’t do a thing. I just don’t know the prices of things. But well, here is one reason why one should watch The Price is Right. It can be rather entertaining. Just for 4 seconds I guess.

How to check your testicles for cancer

Uncategorized

Previously I posted a Dr. Chris Steele video on How to check your breasts for breast cancer. On men’s health, there is how to check your testicles for cancer. Note that this video involves a live model and is therefore NSFW.

Dr Chris Steele demonstrates how to properly examine your testicles for cancer. This shows how to carry out a testicular examination.

I won’t be surprised if you can’t view this video through //beconfused, go to YouTube and view it directly. It may require you to be above 18.

Visit his website for more information. Keep your eye on the ball - left one and right one. Well… It’s always interesting to know.

The Male Brain vs The Female Brain

Uncategorized

3. Women use more of their brains when they think.

4. Men’s brains contain roughly 6.5 times the amount of grey matter related to general intelligence as women’s brains, while women’s brains contain about 10 times as much white matter related to general intelligence as men’s. Researchers point to this finding to explain the controversial belief that in general, men may naturally excel at math while women tend to excel in areas like language.

9. A 20-second hug will trigger the release of oxytocin in a woman’s brain. The effect of this chemical will often give the woman a feeling of trust in the person hugging her.

Ahh… Something good to know.

shopping//gender

Uncategorized

I don’t really like shopping for clothes for some strange reason. It is mainly due to laziness I guess. I am just lazy to go and walk and walk around the whole shopping mall to find clothes.

My girlfriend would bring me to clothes stalls and she’d be browsing the collections of men clothes. Apparently men’s clothes didn’t seem entertaining enough. At moments of time, I got bored and felt sleepy after going to one stall to another, one street to another and so on.

How men and women would buy a pair of pants.

(How men and women would buy a pair of pants. I don’t know who drew this diagram, but it’s not me.)

Women on the other hand have lots of patience for that it seems. I’m sorry if I stereotype the whole gender, but let’s just say, generally, women visit so many stalls to choose for the clothes that they like.

Well, I mean, at the end of the trip, women chose something nice and that made her really happy which is good. Men, on the other hand, spend lesser time, and what made them really happy is to get done with the shopping and move on to something else, like a console game at home.

But what actually caused men to not like to shop? It’s the variety. Women have more clothes on display while men have lesser generally. Take a look at our shopping centres, how many shops are actually dedicated for the males? Mosts dedicate to both genders or just women.

Furthermore, women’s clothes have more variety. A button here, a lace pattern there, a just-for-decoration pocket on the pants. Men’s clothes are simpler in a way.

But men don’t hate shopping. You put them in Sim Lim Square (computer hardware heaven) or Borders (book heaven) and they can spend hours there. Especially Sim Lim Square, I have friends who goes there every fortnight and returns back with something new all the time it seems.

[I can't find an image of Sim Lim Square, I actually thought I have one to show you guys. I found one for Borders that I took some time back though.]

men//bazaar

Uncategorized

I was at Ngee Ann City today, the land of Takashimaya and Kinokuniya (largest tenant I believe). At the basement, there was this Men’s Bazaar.

Now, this is really rare, at least in Singapore. Every time I see bazaars, they’re usually for women and today I actually see a men’s bazaar. I can’t believe it, perhaps someone tore down the letters “WO” from the banner that writes “MEN’S BAZAAR”.

It’s quite big by the way, it occupies a portion of the Ngee Ann City basement outside Takashimaya (which is considered one of the bigger spaces in a Singapore shopping mall). I wasn’t having anything in mind to get. Perhaps a pair of shoes? Perhaps bags? I don’t know. Anyway, I just checked out the men’s bazaar to check out their goods.

There are bags, wallets, shoes, clothes, luggage and sunglasses. I don’t think luggage should go with men’s bazaar but it’s found their anyway. The luggage is okay, in fact, I spotted locks (as in those that need keys to open), miniature-size screwdriver that is only good for vandalizing hotel tables and electrical sockets from European regions. I don’t see these strange items as men’s items frankly speaking.

After walking more, I even spot feminine bags, feminine sunglasses, strange pink accessories that look alien to me and feminine wallets. And this is supposed to be a men’s bazaar. Oh man, it’s cheating us men. I don’t believe any men (or to be more precise - straight men) would carry a cute wallet that is in a nice shade of brown with a heart shape in front. Pink sunglasses? No thanks.

I realized that the bazaar is 40% for men, 20% for women and the rest are basically non gender specific. And I hereby conclude that bazaars for men virtually don’t exist here in Singapore.

marry//question

Uncategorized

Here is a fairytale that I would like to share and like all (almost) fairytales, this one starts with “once upon a time”.

Once upon a time a guy asked a girl “will you marry me?”

She said, “No”.

And the guy lived happily ever after.
