Check if you hung your Singapore flag wrongly

Uncategorized

Some people, after years of flag hanging still hang their flags wrongly. Check and see if your flag is hung correctly as illustrated:

Check if you hung your Singapore flag wrongly

From inside your house, lift your flag up slowly so that you’ll find yourself holding to the white ends of the flag as shown below. Is the crescent on your right?

If it isn’t, you might just be one of the people hanging their flags front-side back two blocks away from me. Please, please hang it right. :)

It’s great to know that Singapore’s national day is coming and more and more people are putting up their flags, but never hang your flag when you’re half-awake.

Transport error - HTTP status code was not 200

Uncategorized

Now every time I tried to blog through Digg, I encounter this error message. It is probably something to do with my WordPress XMLPRC file but I overwritten it again and it still didn’t work.

Error From Your Blog
transport error - HTTP status code was not 200

I am kinda stuck already. It’s so easy to blog through Digg and it’s unfortunate that I can’t do so anymore. I am using WordPress 2.2.1, it’s the latest version of WordPress. Blogging via Digg used to work before I upgraded from WordPress 2.2 to WordPress 2.2.1. It just stop working after that upgrade.

PICTURE: Spider Man uses Windows 98!

Uncategorized

Despite abilities to shoot cob webs and looking nerdy in real life, Spider-man isn’t spared from office hours annoyances such as the Windows 98 blue screen of death (BSOD).

Spider-man not spared from BSOD too.

Goblin Secret Lab.

So you know what Green Globin use in his oh-so-secret lab, it’s not that advanced.

I bought my son this Mega Bloks set this evening:

Imagine my elation when I discovered that a clever designer managed to sneak a Win98 BSOD into the set!

food//translation

Uncategorized

These are English translation are found in a Fuji Japanese Restaurant.

* The pan is burnt dark winter one
* The pig stews the curried meal to eat definately
* The cold Joe’s wheat

Read all the rest of the mistranslation at Voxeros’s blog - JayWalk.

Can’t guess what those are? I can’t read Japanese but I can understand the Chinese characters.

They are actually:

* Pan fried Udon (a type of noodle)
* Curry pork chop rice set meal

Er… I don’t know the third one. And the reason why things are translated to ‘eat definately’ is due to the word ‘å®?é£?’ which is literally translated to fixed food. It means set meal if I’m not wrong. It looks as though those guys used Google Translate or something.

worst//offenders

Uncategorized

Several of Nafcom’s comments are eaten up by the hungry Akismet plugin in WordPress. Now, I am trying Akismet Worst Offenders Extension to see if it works better.

Akismet saved me a lot of time maintain a blog and I can’t just deactivate it. Once deactivated, I’ll get hundreds of spam per day! And that’s just too hard to maintain.

I’ll hope the plugin modification would help. If you’re sure you comment and yet your comment just doesn’t appear, it is either moderated or caught by Akismet spam filter.

Akismet tends to catch false positives. I’m annoyed but can’t do much except to visit my list my comments and marked the legitimate comments off the spam list. Hopefully Akismet would improve soon.

If only there aren’t spammers…

I just realised I posted the same link two times!

And worst still, I titled one of them illusion//cool (posted on January) and the other cool//illusion (posted on May). Oh man… I can’t even remember I once posted it before. Maybe I’m having an illusion.
