I don’t know if you guys have heard about it, but the new version of MSN Messenger will be known as Windows Live Messenger 8. So there’ll be no more MSN Messenger 8 of course. Numerous MSN products would be rebranded as ‘Live’ products in future. And Windows Live Messenger is one of the first few to be released.

Microsoft needs people to test out Windows Live Messenger 8. So if you are interested, I can invite up to 8 people to test out this Windows Live Messenger 8 beta. Note that this is just a beta product so if anything doesn’t work right, don’t scream.

I attached some screens to show you how Windows Live Messenger 8 (WLM8) looks like. As you can see, WLM8 has undergone a facelift. I don’t know if you guys would like the new look better. I think it looks neater by a little? If you are interested in testing, you can either leave a comment or contact me directly. Thanks.

  2. cockroach//è??è??: I see, you’re a tester too. So far, I don’t see much problem, but I think the whole mouseover-and-you-see-nickname-details can bit quite an annoyance as it’s “jumping”.

  5. It kind of looks cute, bubbly kind of cute, you know? But the huge advertisement is like an eyesore haha. Oh, I notice MSN Messenger 7.5 has an ad too, but somehow it’s not so prominent. LOL.

I guess I will wait for the official one to come out. I’ve no patience for betas. xD

  6. Milky: Indeed. Yes, it does look kinda cute now. I think it would appeal the younger crowd. The advertisements have always been this big I think.

rax: What’s your MSN account mail address? If you wish to conceal it, you can post a comment with your MSN address. I’ll send you an invite as soon as I see this comment.

mike: Your Windows Live Messenger invitation is coming your way. :)

  14. mike: Sorry, I don’t know what happened too. Perhaps you can report to Microsoft’s Live Messenger people. Invalid login? Have you tried to use an email account other than the one I invite you to login? I’m glad it finally worked though.

rax and Mikey: The invite is coming your way! Thanks for the wait, I stayed in camp for the week and was unable to invite. You should receive the following email.

    Hi Mikey and Rax,
This is the Windows Live Messenger 8 invite, sorry for the wait. I was in camp for the whole week staying in and was unable to invite you. Enjoy! :)

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Dew (http://beconfused.com)

june: It is cool, would you like an invite too?

Nafcom: I’m not sure if you can actually forward an invitation actually.

by Mr. Dew (Jan 20, 2006 at 5 PM)
  15. @Mr Dew: I got a link by email, clicking on that it asks for my MSN passport login, so I don’t see why it should not work :)

by Espen Kvale (Jan 22, 2006 at 7 AM)
  17. Nafcom: Maybe it would, I’m not very sure about it.

Espen Kvale: What’s your email address? You posted a comment with a Gmail address. I’m not sure if that is your future Windows Live Messenger log in. You can post a comment with your Messenger sign in email. :)
