Let’s take a look at some dumb laws in Singapore according to this website, I’ll write what I think of these laws. I don’t think some of which are dumb actually.

*The sale of gum is prohibited.*
This is not a dumb law actually. It came as a punishment to all citizens because some $(@#%($! idiots went to stick the gum they chewed everywhere. Imagine people stuffing chewed gum into your keyhole - you’ll be fucking pissed that you can’t open your door after a hard day’s work. Anyway, the Singapore government has relaxed this rule slightly, allowing one type of gum that has therapeutic effects for sale in pharmacies.

*Homosexuals are not allowed to live in the country.*
Okay, let’s just say we are conservative still. I don’t support homosexuality but somehow I feel that I am forced to acknowledge them as part of Singapore. This law doesn’t concern me, but I would say that… well, okay… Verdict: Dumb

*Oral sex is illegal unless it is used as a form of foreplay.*
I don’t think that is dumb actually. I don’t think the police raids the bedrooms of couples at night though.

*Pornography is illegal.*
Bet many didn’t know this law exists. I wouldn’t say it is dumb, but to make this into a law may be unnecessary. The police is not actively after people owning pornography. They are after people who are selling the porn videos, that would be the ah peh (old man) with his stall at the train station.

Anyway, I’ll continue with dumb Singapore laws (revealed on June 21, 2005)

  1. The sexual laws ARE DUMB! I mean, it’s their lives! As long they do not sex in public and so do not offend others!

hehe, luckily here we have no such chewing gum terrorism :D

  2. Nafcom: The country doesn’t give a damn I think. The laws will only get you if you do sexual stuff outside, in public places. How the hell would they know what you are doing in the bed rooms, hahaa…

  3. @Mr. Dew: “The laws will only get you if you do sexual stuff outside, in public places”, I guess this is the valid rule in every country.
Hmm, forgive my delay, but I got a 404 error a couple of times when I tried to access to your blog!

  4. Nafcom: My service provider is offline sometimes. I hate that feeling but I can’t control it unless I change service providers. Well, this is one of the cheapest service providers so I’ll just have to bear with it until I start earning my own money, hahaa..

  6. Nafcom: Blogger’s quite reliable, I haven’t had much problems with it as far as I remember. But I want a domain name of my own and I wanted to use WordPress, so in the end, I chose my current web host that is cheap and provides this.

I always go off topic anyway, I don’t give a damn, lol

  7. @Mr Dew: Yes, I am glad with it myself. (blogger).

well, how cheap is it? (webhost). must be veeeeery cheap then!

  8. Nafcom: My web host costs about US$5 per month, it’s quite affordable for me. I don’t earn a lot of money, in National Service, I earn SG$350 monthly, that would be around 200 bucks in U.S. dollar roughly. It’s not a lot of money considering that I am trying to save money up to further studies too.

  9. Mr. Dew: Interesting. how many MB does those 5 USD include?

  10. Nafcom: I think it’s 2000 MB. I don’t remember, lol…

Anyway, //beconfused uses 100 MB of disk space in total. Blogs don’t really need a lot disk space actually. It’s bandwidth is about 20 GB I think. I use 1 or 2 GB bandwidth per month.
