The singer, who was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, converted to Islam in a ceremony at a friend’s house in Los Angeles.
He is said to have sat on the floor and worn a small hat while an imam officiated.
According to The Sun, the ceremony took place while Jackson, 50, was recording an album at the home of Steve Porcaro, a keyboard player who composed music on his Thriller album. (Source: Telegraph)

Mainly because he was a well known person so there are procedures that have to be done and, this may sounds a little insulting, publicity to be done too. A famous person dying is usually big business. Also there would have been a commotion if he had been buried so quickly without some idea to why and how he died. And how can you insult the man and the religion so cruelly? It is cold hearted to say that any religion accepts child molestations, Islam may have its faults like all religions but i don’t think they are that far gone to allow that. Its not religion that makes a person do that to a child but their sick heads.
