I am particularly concerned about the time when a McCain supporter told McCain that she does not trust Obama because he is an Arab. To that McCain refuted that Obama isn’t and that he is a decent, family man.
What struck me is not so much the insensitivity of the question but McCain’s answers. McCain seemingly suggested that Arabs aren’t decent family men.
Colin Powell recently gave Obama his endorsement. Powell remarked the accusations of Obama being a Muslim.:
Powell: I’m also troubled by, not what Sen. McCain says, but what members of the party say, and it is permitted to be said such things as: “Well, you know that Mr. Obama is a Muslim.” Well, the correct answer is: he is not a Muslim. He’s a Christian. He’s always been a Christian.
But the really right answer is: What if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer is: No, that’s not America. Is there something wrong with some 7-year-old Muslim-American kid believing he or she can be President?
Yet I have heard senior members of my own party drop the suggestion: he’s a Muslim, and he might be associated with terrorists. This is not the way we should be doing it in America.
He’s right. So what if Obama is a muslim? Does it make the president less American? Whatever happened to liberty? Wasn’t it stated in the Bill of Rights that all men are entitled to exercise religion of their choice?

exactly my point when I was reading up on stuff that he’s muslim. religion shouldn’t be an issue, and its so offending from McCain’s statement that Arabs can’t be decent family men(didn’t realize that before).
by ven (Oct 20, 2008 at 7 PM)Powell’s endorsement of Obama does not verify Obama’s judgement, but rather brings Powell’s judgement into question. Powell says that Obama is ready to lead … WHY? … Regardless of Powell’s last minute endorsement, Obama is still the most liberal senator in congress … who accomplished nothing in his meager 3 years in office, except voting present 160 times, and campaigning for President, as well as associating with anti-American racists and domestic terrorists … and, taking America down the road to socialism. Obama betrayed a friendship of 20 years, for personal ambition. Powell betrayed his friendship with McCain. McCain did not betray his fellow prisoners, even during 5 years of torture. These facts speak volumes about who these men really are, and whether or not we can trust them.

1. He hasn’t always been a Christian
[1a. TUCC is not what I would call a Christian church... and not just because they teach that one can be a Muslim and Christian at the same time.]
2. Obama lied when he said his grandfather was Muslim “just because he’s from that country” and when he said that he has never been a Muslim.
Kenya is predominantly Christian, the Luo people are predominantly Christian, that region is predominantly Christian, his grandfather became a Muslim, stating — as Obama wrote in “Dreams from My Father” — that he despised Christ and loved Mohammad because Jesus is like a woman and Moham is a real man who kills his enemies [read "Dream from My Father if you have any doubts]
Obama was raised Muslim, primarily by his step-father, attended mosques, recited the Muslim call to prayer, and was registered in his Indonesian school as a Muslim citizen of Indonesia.
Follow whatever politics you like, but this is all documented as fact:

Therefore, Obama has serious character issues, and Powell has, like most Obama supporters, just distorted the issues.
