Japanese woman caught living in man’s closet
TOKYO - A homeless woman who sneaked into a man’s house and lived undetected in his closet for a year was arrested in Japan after he became suspicious when food mysteriously began disappearing.
Police found the 58-year-old woman Thursday hiding in the top compartment of the man’s closet and arrested her for trespassing, police spokesman Hiroki Itakura from southern Kasuya town said Friday.
The resident of the home installed security cameras that transmitted images to his mobile phone after becoming puzzled by food disappearing from his kitchen over the past several months.
The woman told police she had no place to live and first sneaked into the man’s house about a year ago when he left it unlocked.
She had moved a mattress into the small closet space and even took showers, Itakura said, calling the woman “neat and clean.”
This is kinda freaky actually. Makes good plot in horror stories.
This is a very interesting story. I actually feel kind of bad for the old women, but I can understand the owners decision to call the police on her. It seems like she didn’t steal anything other than food which she needed to survive. Maybe it would’ve turned out better for her if she asked for help instead of break in the house.
There was a some what similar story that happened in my city. A cheating wife had the other man leaving in the closet while her husband was at home, and then he would come out when her husband went to work. The sad part about this story was that once they husband found the guy in the closet they guy killed him.
This world is filled with strange and crazy story’s sometimes.
