Busy with this, this and that

Uncategorized

Been kinda busy lately therefore not really blogging. I have so much things I wanted to say but don’t have the time to. I’ve been busy with my assignments, the Java assignment is done, yet not done. Hanging in the middle. My E-business module is largely about research which I am quite good at.

And then there is work which I code with ActionScript:

(Coding with ActionScript.)

Also busy with this work which I code with a coffee cup as you can see:

Development with coffee cup, you just have to move the cup around and the IDE would start constructing. They call that scaffolding.

Next week would be better. Schedules are tight and my reading has stopped too. Coming week would be prelims for my university. But let’s look at the brighter side shall we? That means semester is ending!

MyBlogLog releases shiny new widget

Uncategorized

I just joined MyBlogLog days ago just to see how it actually works. The idea is pretty cool so I decided to keep it on my sidebar.

(Very nice. I like the black one. It didn’t look very right due to my stylesheet. My sidebar one looks correct though.)

They’ve just released a new widget for the recent visitors tool and it’s looking really good. Go to their site to fetch the new codes. I kinda found the flyout feature to be rather annoying and disabled it. MyBlogLog is a Yahoo company.

The problem with outsourcing technical support

Uncategorized

Sometimes I get really annoyed when I make these support calls. There’s always a lag time of like 0.3 milliseconds and I could finish a biscuit in that amount of time. But what really pisses me off is the accent. The accent that make technical support a lot more technical than it supposed to be. Whatever happen to your friendly support people? They’re probably in a bloody call center in India. Anyway, here are some video clips of people’s experience with call centers that might just make you go what-the-ahem.

call center salesman goes insane (REAL RECORDING)

I can believable, like a little girl. As long as this doesn’t happen to me, he’s the funniest call center salesman. The salesman is in Panama.

Here’s one from Microsoft support center. I don’t know what he’s talking about.

Funny Microsoft support center call

The Microsoft support personnel is probably from India. Here’s a video of what call centers do in India.

Indian Call Centre

Well, if you have a computer problem, consider this - unplug it and plug it right back. Sometimes, you don’t really benefit from calling call centers. If you’re a novice computer user, you probably can’t convey your computer problem in the right terms and the support fellow from India tries to tell you to check if your power button is on. He probably is laughing with his colleagues after he puts down your phone call. Should you be an expert computer user, calling support lines is like teaching the call center support personnel something new.

So you know what - forget it. If you have a problem, go to your expert computer friend. Buy him or her lunch of something and ask them for help. No strange accent. No lag.

Another shooting case in America

Uncategorized

Yet another shooting case in America, this time in Illinois:

6 shot dead, including gunman, at Northern Illinois University

DEKALB, Illinois (CNN) — A gunman dressed in black stepped from behind a curtain at the front of a large lecture hall at Northern Illinois University on Thursday and shot 21 people, five of them fatally, then turned shot and killed himself, said university president John Peters.

Four died at the scene, including the shooter, and two later died at the hospital, he said.

At least 22 people, including a graduate student who was teaching an ocean sciences class, were shot, Peters said.

Seventeen victims were taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital, its Web site said.

Of those, six were in critical condition and were flown to other hospitals. One fatality, a male, was confirmed — but was not the gunman, the hospital said. Two were admitted, and three others were discharged.

The gunman started shooting from a stage in the room shortly after 3 p.m. (4 p.m. ET) in Cole Hall, officials said.

Police Chief Donald Grady said authorities do not yet know of a motive.

You are very optimistic and you always see the bright side of things. Some good advice: try not to be too much of a dreamer. Dreaming too big could cause many conflicts in your life.
