So J asked me if I’ve got any nice videos

Uncategorized

So J asked me if I’ve got any nice videos. And er, daryl, you know this J.

Our conversation:

J says: eh u got any nice video

K says: what you mean?

J says: i wan to put inside my ipod

K says: LOL! look, yours is a creative zen neeon, not ipod

J says: whatever the name is too long

Ouch, that sure hurts for Creative.

Okay, J has something quite racist to share. These people are trying to get the the Indian food stall owner to sell them pork. The Indian stall owner is patient at first but he got pissed when they asked for pork again and again.

RK House – No PORK! (Full Version) with Subtitles

Yes, J wants that video but I can’t be bothered to learn how to download a video from YouTube. He keep asking me to learn how to download so that he can have the video. “No video, no video, you ask for video again, I will call the police!”

Possibly related:

  1. Creative finally gets Zen – not Zen Stone – just Zen
  2. ipod//nano
  3. nice//tits

  2. Yup, I must admit it’s pretty funny. It’s amazing that they are doing such things in Singapore, I hope they don’t get caught or something. They would probably appear on the papers soon, lol…

  3. As far as downloading from youtube goes, greasemonkey, ftw.

And my classmate sent that video to me too. I didn’t find it very funny. Guess it’s just me. =S

  4. It’s not right if it’s funny but I can’t help it and laughed. I lost to a bunch of subtitles with no images. I recommend him Keepvid. I use Opera so no Greasemonkey for me I think.

  5. Ah yes, I would switch to Opera if only it could offer me all the pretty extensions and a convincing RSS. As it is, I’ll stay with my Firefox. A little about:config and a good theme (mine’s MacOS) on top of all the extensions, and it’s all I need.

I do wish it ran faster, though. =(

Incidentally, was J also the one who asked about how to spell Nelly Furtado?… Thought I saw a telltale sign or two… Hmmm…

(And I heard about the Ribbon and stuff and several reviewers advise not switching to Office 2007 until you’re ready to learn, so I guess it’s not on my upgrade list for now.)

  6. daryl: Yup, the main problem I had with Firefox is its speed. I tend to open a lot of tabs and in my computer, Firefox can’t really take it. It really slows down and takes up unjustifiable system resources (which disturbed he fps of the anime that I am watching, hey why surf only when you can watch and surf).

Yup, he asked me how to spell Nelly Furtado. It’s pretty funny, he called me up and said to me, “wah lao, what you tell me to download, is a guy singing lor” To which I reply, “KNN you download Nelly lar, he is the ‘yo yo yo’ one.” He kept bugging me yesterday because he heard a song in the shops and I identified the song album to him.

As for Office 2007 ribbon, I switched quite easily actually. I think anyone who is used to the internet can switch quite easily since layouts change all the time. ;)

  7. Ah, Firefox is only slow for me during startup so I’m fine.

And ribbon… I heard it hides things. I don’t know. Not while I’m working on my book at least.

And it has come to my attention that all literary agents in Singapore might be secret agents because they’re so hard to find.

  8. daryl: I just want something easy to use, because at the end of the day, it’s the web sites that are providing the user experience and not so much the browser.

The ribbon doesn’t really hide things, it kinda consolidate things and some features might have been removed but I think Microsoft Office team has been quite careful here, I didn’t really notice much. I’m a fan of the ribbon now, lol… I’m quite annoyed with Outlook still though, it just seem to complicated and too bulky.

And returning to the topic of RK House. I have seen more and more people quite upset about it. Now I wonder if I should post it up. :/

  9. Opera’s concept is all-in-one. It doesn’t need any extensions and if you want extensions, Opera can have them too. Thanks to sidepanel and widgets.

I hate Firefox and IE7 because they need plugins to use them nicely.
What rocks too is Opera’s email client.

I will never ever install Firefox on my system!

  10. Ah, you know what they say about one man’s meat…

And while I dwell in the realm of zotero, noscript, fasterfox, netcraft, greasemonkey, flashgot and friends, I have to say that I’d use safari if I could. (And if it dealt with RSS a bit better.)

Oh, I was always under the impression the ribbon hides things you don’t use. I read that somewhere. Can’t recall now.

And ya, I didn’t want to put up that vid on my blog because I thought it was just distasteful.

  11. Yes, ribbon does hide things in a way. A more accurate way of putting it is that ribbon hides options that aren’t available for you. It’s context sensitive, for example, if you click on a picture, the Picture tab would be available for you. And when you click on a WordArt, the Design tab would be available for you. It’s hidden from you if you don’t click on those.

I don’t think IE7 needs plugins, Nafcom. I was looking around the IE7 add ons and I don’t even find one that I like. And the only plugin I have in Firefox is the one that can remember my tabs after I close Firefox, I don’t remember what that’s called.

I use Gmail as my primary email client and for calendars I use Outlook. I do not use Opera Widgets as they’re kinda just eye candy and serves me poorly.

Everyone has their own preference I guess. I just stick with Opera, I never tried to recommend people browsers. I just tell them to stick with the one with the prettier icons, lol…
