Steve Irwin’s pretty well known in Australia. He is the star in (somewhat) documentary The Crocodile Hunter. He spends his time opening the crocodiles mouth and playing with them.

He was killed in a freak accident in Cairns, police sources said. It appeared that he was killed by a sting-ray barb that went through his chest, Queensland Police Inspector Russell Rhodes said.

He survived all the crocodiles and a sting-ray killed him? Oh well, I’m sure the Australian animal lovers would miss him.

THE Crocodile Man, Steve Irwin, is dead

It is understood he was killed by a sting-ray barb that went through his chest.

  1. oh yeah, my exact sentiments – I thot he was killed by a crocodile … looks like karma has a strange way of working things out for a man who has cheated death on numerous occasions.

  2. Well i only know he died last night and that was only because everyone was telling me to put a turtle in front of the msn nickname as a show of respect. Half my messenger contacts have turtles now in their nicknames.

  3. A turtle? Well, perhaps that’s the only reptile in Live Messenger. His death is quite sudden actually and it seems that his wife learnt it after the press! Amazing how quickly the press can obtain such information. The press agency claimed an unnamed police source reveal to them.

I still can’t believe that he is killed by a freaking sting-ray! I almost thought he’d survive every damn thing already. Rest in peace.

  4. [...] This is just one of the many Steve Irwin tributes in YouTube (he died). I feel sad seeing the video somehow. Background music is Enya’s Only Time. Very nicely done tribute video. [...]
