Just something to remember.
This is the advertisement of the then Atari Breakout. Atari used to be one of the bigger players in video gaming. It’s sad that today’s Atari seemed to be struggling in releasing games. And their games – they’re buggy. They are usually the publishers so it’s not fully their fault but shouldn’t there be more quality control?
You see, that’s why people thing the games in the past are better. You alway got those guys who would say things like, “those were the days, dude, games are just fun and original.”
I always argue that I prefer games today. Because I love SimCity 4, Civilization VI, and a bunch of other strategy games. The games in the past are good and simple. But today’s game captivated me totally! Unfortunately, the bugs in today’s game are getting more due to 3D graphics engine coded badly. Many games are just taking too much resources too!
Maybe I should return to playing Tetris.

yes today’s game looks nicer, has more sophisticated features that the simple games can never hope to achieve. i like the new games as well as the old games but if i were to choose to live in one era forever, i think i’d choose the era of old games.
i miss them a lot and can’t play a lot of damn since many run best or only on win95/dos -sobs-
by sky (Jul 12, 2006 at 1 PM)Dude…I had one of those!!!
by aurora_starfire (Jul 13, 2006 at 2 AM)Well,my family did. We kept it until 1995,when it died.
sky: I still don’t like those games, hahaa… It’s because most are action type of games and I just don’t like action games. Most strategy games are of the newer area.
aurora_starfire: You actually had one of those?! Wow… I never seen that in my life, lol… But I definately seen lots of equivalents for the pong game.
by Mr. Dew (Jul 13, 2006 at 7 AM)I still prefer the Commodore 64 and it not only has action games
by Nafcom (Jul 14, 2006 at 5 AM)Nafcom: Many people still prefer their old consoles it seems. You’re not the first guy to say that. It really makes me wonder if modern consoles actually have proud fans who would swear how much they dislike the older ones when the newer ones get released, hahaa…
by Mr. Dew (Jul 15, 2006 at 6 AM)How did you embed youtube video into your blog? I tried using the embed URL given in youtube.com but then Wordpress seems to fail to render it. Is there any plugins I need to install?
by viv (Jul 16, 2006 at 11 AM)viv: Previously, I had some problems too. I don’t remember the problems that I encounter but I did remember the solution. I went on to disable the toolbar. You can disable it in your user profile I think. You then see your entire post in HTML.
I don’t use the nice little graphical toolbar because of that reason.

– Well, GTR2 works fine for me, no bugs figured out so far by me. But I know that there is a patch, which I read doesn’t work and destroy the game, heheh
