I’m going for a vacation! And this time to another country. It’s quite exciting for me; believe it or not, I never been to another country before!

(Okay, this is a picture of Sentosa in the evening, resized, original resolution 2700 x 1442, merged photograph.)
I’m like the only one around who has yet to leave Singapore and I’m like 4 months to 21 years old. I look forward to this trip badly actually. It would be a much needed vacation for me. I am mentally exhausted and, at times, lost my purpose of working. I hate to work in my camp.
Anyway, I’ll be going to Johor, Malaysia. Just right next to Singapore only. It’s so near that it’d just take an hour and a half to reach the resort. I’ll be checking in with my church mates.
Yes! It’s a church camp but I am not going there for the sermons. Sure I’ll listen to one or two but I have plans to visit around and buy some things. I scanned through the schedule and we only have like 3 hours on 2 of the days to go around Malaysia. It’s such a tight scheduled camp.
Well, I’ll be away on Wednesday and would return on coming Saturday evening. Till then I won’t be around. I don’t plan to touch the computer there at all!
Hope you guys enjoy your weekdays too!

by sky (Jun 14, 2006 at 10 AM)Yeh I agree with you mate. I am from Australia and I visited Singapore early this year before travelling to Indonesia. I couldn’t believe the night life there! It was amazing to see how many people were still about until early in the morning, especially in the karaoke clubs. But Singapore had one major downfall for me, the price of everything was so high! I walked into a k-club late one night and asked how much it was for a drink… I don’t know if the guy was lying but he said it was $150 per bottle! After that I walked straight out. Even in the airport a pizza was $55, but in Australia a pizza is about $5 AUS. I guess if you want bargains you have to visit Indonesia as I have in the past. Everything is cheap there. Singapore is also very tiring, you have late nights and early mornings every day, and there is no escaping it. But I still think that Singapore was a great place even if there wasn’t many exciting places to go (besides Sentosa) and I have visited again since my first trip. Does anyone have any suggestions of good places to visit on my next trip? (December this year).
by Josh (Jun 18, 2006 at 3 PM)Thanks guys, I’ve returned safely. My trip is quite a short one, I wish it were to be longer. I didn’t get to shop around and see much of Malaysia too. Perhaps I’ll go to Malaysia next time to experience the shopping and stuff.
Josh: Sentosa’s pretty good. Subsequent visits may bore you though. Never buy things at the airport if you’re trying to safe money. Things are too expensive there. The Great Singapore Sale is on now so the things are cheaper. During December, there’s Christmas and things do get cheaper too. If you’re visiting alone, you can check out the museum. I’m quite fond of the Singapore Science Centre too.
If you want cheaper stuff, you should try shopping at shopping malls that are further from the city. The difference is not very significant though. To enjoy a good meal in restaurants would cost about 15 to 20 per person. You can try Pizza Huts in the city, order a bigger pizza. They have some promotions going on all the time.
Alcohol is not the cheapest stuff we have here. I won’t recommend them. I don’t drink but I heard the prices are crazy, especially in clubs. And oh yeah, if you do enjoy night life, try not to get drunk or rowdy in the restaurants. I heard many bad stories.

by Nafcom (Jun 19, 2006 at 9 AM)Not so soon. I don’t have the time to upload them unfortunately. It’s going to be a busy week for me. I’ll upload when I’m free.
by Mr. Dew (Jun 19, 2006 at 12 PM)Thanks for the info Mr.Dew, hope you had fun in Malaysia. I agree that Sentosa would probably become boring if I went there again, there isn’t really that much to do there. What I do know is that it would be near impossible to get drunk at a club with the prices that are charged for drinks, (unless you had a few thousand dollars that you wanted to spend quickly.) But I don’t think that getting drunk is all that fun anyway, it is better to dance then to vomit right? I think that I will try the museum on my next visit, but I won’t be visiting another massage parlour, last time they charge me $70! Thanks.
by Josh (Jun 19, 2006 at 1 PM)Mr Dew: Ok, send me a link by email as soon as you did, please.
Thanks in advance!
by Nafcom (Jun 19, 2006 at 5 PM)Josh: I had fun there. Massage parlours are expensive and we aren’t really famous for massage anyway, hahaa… The local food is pretty good. I heard that Hotel Pheonix offers some local food buffet that’s pretty good. Singaporeans love buffets. You can get to try lots of different food there if you enjoy eating. Buffets are at SG$25 to SG$40 in most hotel’s restaurants per pax.
My friends orders liquor sometimes and I heard they can easily spend six hundred per visit to share. I think I’ll just stick with drinking green tea from the supermarket.
Nafcom: No problem, I’ll post them next week I think.
