tagging//enabled

Uncategorized

Thanks to Christine Davis’ Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin, tagging is now available. I complained about the limits of categories, and wished for tagging to be available for WordPress.

The //beconfused tag cloud.

(The //beconfused tag cloud.)

In the end, I can’t wait any longer and applied a plugin to enable tagging. I still wish for something similar to Ultimate Tag Warrior to be supported by WordPress natively.

The cool thing about Ultimate Tag Warrior is that Technorati can detect the tags used in my posts too. That way, it’s much easier to find blogs that discusses on the same topic easier.

I join the whole tagging business quite late actually. It’s fun and easy for me. I still refuse to remove categories though. They’re quite useful in my opinion. You can see the tag cloud at my archives.

  2. Thanks so much Nafcom. Zoomcloud seems interesting, you found something interesting. Very cool stuff. I’ll blog about it after I try. :)

I seen the search too, I used to use Google’s search to do that. Then I give up soon after. I got sick of their sponser advertisements. Now I realize how ugly my title looks with the ». I gotta use a different character, hahaa…

    Thanks once again :)

  3. I have got blog clouds!…

Finally, the //beconfused blog has got tags for its posts and also a Tag Cloud. I also wanted one and I just added two of them.
Both of them can be accessed at the top of each page of my blog.

The first cloud is combined with a search engine. It …..

  4. Mr Dew: You are welcome. I am glad you like my support.
The ZoomCloud uses my ATOM feed while the swicki cloud uses the search criteries people enter in the Hot Search Bar.

I prefer the Hot Search, Technorati Search and the Blogger Search.

Interstingly, meanwhile all three of them produce good results.

I am glad I finally found a way to support your blog!

  5. PS: I hope you will review both clouds!

  6. I see, I’ll test it out soon. I have an ATOM feed too, but I usually use the more common RSS feed. What are the difference by the way?

  7. Mr. Dew: Thanks!

Well, both feeds are just a different format done by a totally different group and RSS 2.0 is no longer developed further. you can read more about both here :)

  8. Looks like Atom seemed better. I think I’ll use Atom feeds in future. Both my feeds don’t validate! I wonder if it’s a WordPress problem, hahaa… It seems to work fine in Opera though.

  9. Mr Dew: Keep in mind that RSS still is more spread and used.
I would use both if I was you.

Yes, it works perfect in Opera! 8-)

  10. I was referring to picking Atom feeds up to view in my feed viewer instead of RSS, hahaa… Anyway, both RSS and Atom are supported by WordPress and I wouldn’t want to disable either of it too. :)

  11. Mr Dew.. Well, they display the same in M2. :=)

  12. Nafcom: It’s just this standard compliant thing that makes me smile, hahaa… It’s nothing to do with how it looks like. :P

  13. Mr. Dew: Ah ok, sorry - I misunderstood

by Nafcom (May 22, 2006 at 2 AM)
  14. Nafcom: But of course, as far as standard compliant go, I still will provide RSS, since it’s what the majority have.

  15. Mr. Dew: Thinking about it, it will probably never die. I mean it’s basicly just a text and image displayer. Not much space for further development anyway :)
