As you can see, Microsoft Office Word 2007 has a new interface. It is currently under beta and it looks quite nice so far but I am not sure if it would be productive for the office workers. Anyway, one of the features that is added would be a blogging software. It’s really cool that Office Word 2007 would support blogging.

I know of a few friends who blog using Office Word 2007 and then transfer the post to Blogger or something. But Word changes the punctuation by default and sometimes the whle formatting looks screwed up.

Also, type the HTML part in Word doesn’t seem right. But people still want to type in Word. Why’s that so?

* The red underlines to suggest spelling correction.
* Automatically makes the first letter of the sentence uppercase.
* Can do a nice word count.

It supports Blogger, MSN Spaces and more importantly – metaweblog API. That would mean that WordPress blog users can blog with Word 2007 in future. That’s really cool.

I don’t use Word or any other word processor to blog. I prefer the good old typing in a web browser using text and HTML. I don’t trust the WordPress rich text editor after it failed me several times. Perhaps when Word 2007 is released, it may be good enough to make a switch.
