Bizarre baby born in Dolakha

Charikot, Dolakha, March 29 - The birth of a bizarre-looking baby in Charikot, the headquarters of Dolakha district, on Wednesday, drew a huge number of onlookers to witness the astonishing sight.

The neck-less baby with its head almost totally sunk into the upper part of the body and with extraordinarily large eyeballs literally popping out of the eye-sockets, was born to Nir Bahadur Karki and Suntali Karki at the Gaurishnkar Hospital in Charikot.

The bizarre baby, however, died after half an hour of its birth, Suntali, the mother, informed. It was taken to the hospital after its death.

I don’t know if this is a real picture or not but it sure scared me. It must have been caused by crucial mutations in the DNA. A very sad case indeed.

  2. i don’t like how they took the baby to parade like that. more respect should be paid to it, like covering it up properly, and shielding it away from direct sunlight. even if it’s deformed, it’s still once a living human being.

    disturbing to see the pictures…

  3. Yeah, I don’t know why is there a parade. Unless it’s a culture thing, they should have just have a funeral normally and stop the whole media frenzy perhaps.

  4. Pretty standard anencepahly. It’s an extreme neural tube defect (like spina bifida), nothing to do with DNA mutuation. Sad but found from time to time.

  13. How very sad, I know the mother is depressed. Even though it was deformed I know the mother loved it very much. No matter how a child is they shouldn’t be judged by how they look. Like the saying goes never judge a book by it’s cover.

  14. I think it is sad how people make fun of little babies with defromities. I have been in a fight with a bunch of these people that think its fine to make fun. Yet I posted a review about why it is not right to do this and my post was deleted by the site admin because these people found the truth offencive.

  15. This is anencepahly, which is hilarious. Love the way they carried it around in a bowl and sat it up as if still alive. Yey! Wish all you whingers would stop complaining about how sad it is. Let’s have a good, sick laugh at it. My list of favorite deformities:
    1. Cyclopia: one eye in middle of face: the daddy of sick
    2. Treacher-Collins syndrome: horrid facial deformity, and here’s the best bit: normal intelligence!
    3. Acephalus Anceps: parasitic twin develops without a head. Imagine having that pop out of your womb as a bonus!
    Enjoy looking’em up.
