Army terminology of the week
- Lobo – It means to be not doing anything basically. I heard that it is originally an abbreviation L.O.B.O and it stands for “Left Out Of Battallion Order”. When you’re left out of such an order, basically you aren’t doing things that the others are doing. Which is due to many reasons of course.
The word is ‘lobo’ today. Lobo means to be not doing anything in army.
As army’s organization has a lot of red tape, there are always instances where people are left with no work. Not that they want to, but there are just some complications that causes them to not have work to do. It’s quite hard to explain.
Assuming that your company hire you to do graphic design. You’re hired, only to discover that there are no software such as Photoshop or Freehand for you to work on. As frustrated as you can be, your boss tells you that the purchase takes time to approve. You just stay in the company playing with the readily available solution – Microsoft Paint.
And back to the army, such things happen too. It can be typical red tape problems. Anyway, I don’t lobo by the way. I have my work to do and we’re quite busy.
