My mother just called and tell me not to go to Orchard. She says a woman’s head is found in a red plastic bag behind the MRT station an hour ago.
Woman’s head, limbs found in bag near Orchard MRT station
SINGAPORE : A woman’s severed head and limbs were found next to Orchard MRT Station on Friday.
Police are investigating if a woman’s torso found in a black canvas bag along a path near MacRitchie Reservoir is linked to the body parts found earlier at Orchard Road.
The police had responded to a call about an unattended bag at MacRitichie Reservoir earlier in the evening.
The body parts were stashed in a blue sports bag on the grounds near Orchard MRT Station.
The woman’s head was wrapped in a red plastic bag, the arms and legs in two black trash bags.
A cleaner found the unattended sports bag behind the MRT station, between the mosaic wall and the park.
White sheets have been used to screen off the area, so CID officers can investigate the scene.
Two units of anti-riot police are also at Orchard Road to control a crowd of more than 50 onlookers.

Gross and scary. I’ll be going to Raffles now.
[Edit: The news article has been updated.]
this is a rather weird case… it feels like a direct challenge to the police. else, why would any culprit(s) put evidence of crime in such a popular location? Most of these grisly stuff get dumped in ultra secluded locations. Apparently, the murderers want many people to know that they’ve done it.

viv: I feel the same too. The murderer may be trying to get attention. I don’t know if it’s a challenge to the police, but the murderer does seem confident to get away with it.
The above post has been updated with additional information. The limbs have been located and the police are attempting to establish the identity of the victim.
when i walk around proclaiming to the expats i work with that singapore is about the last place that you can walk around alone in the middle of the night… i get slapped in my face with things like this happening…
them ppl i work with raise an eyebrow at the news and give me that..
” you were saying ? ” look…
Is it me or the weather’s been really hot and these ppl choppers have hit the peak on the heat.
JD: People get murdered every year, but these days the murders are more and more gruesome. Singapore is still a safe place in my opinion. However, I am starting to lose confidence. Some time back, there was the Kallang river incident, now this.
I guess your blog post freaked me out. How blatant of murderers nowadays. We are just having more and more of such gross, inhumane acts.
It’s so freakish!
Milky: Yup, the previous case is of Chinese national Liu Hong Mei were found in the Kallang River on June 16. Scary.

Viv, in response to your comments about murderers wanting people to know they have done it…..this is true. This is an isolated case. A one off. The woman that commited this atrocity was probably scared, she wanted catching quickly , so why dump the parts in a an area of mass population. Simple. To get the highest attention possible. And to get the Polices attention. All credit to Singapore Police for catching her quickly. The chances of her turning into a serial killer are quite remote, but murderers must be caught quickly and brought to justice. But people, lets remember, Singapore is still safe when you consider my home country and others in the Western World. Lets not get carried away with Singapore being turned into a lawless state.
