Okay, I actually gotten myself a new phone. I have been thinking about getting a new phone since a year ago but I just can’t decide what to get for myself.

I am always cursing each new camera phone that come out. I don’t like them. I think camera phones are nothing more than a gimmick to re-attract people to purchase new phones.

Today, I returned back home with Nokia 7260. I lost. I bought a camera phone. There are simply too many camera phones and I want a phone that is affordable. I zoomed into 2 Nokia phones in the end. Well, you can say that I am not not really a fan of clam-shaped phones.

I choose Nokia phones because I can’t be bothered to relearn the interfaces of a rival companies. I’m too lazy you see.

Nokia 6021 has nice buttons, I want functionality and cared little about the design. Nokia 6021 does not come with a camera but comes with blue tooth which I don’t really want. Nokia 7260 has an extra bonus which is the radio. I chose it in the end.

Both are good phones to me. Couple phone, lol… I haven’t charge up my new phone though. I’ll go to the army with my old phone, I’ll play with my new phone when I return next week. I am kinda tempted over the new toy I bought… But then, there isn’t no time for me to charge it anyway.

Enjoy your week, people. I’m leaving for army soon. I am likely to be returning on next Saturday, 23 July. Gotta rush, see you guys soon. I’ll show you guys a picture of my phone next week, my bloody FTP is down, my Cpanel is down too. What the hell is happening.

  2. @milky: Infact Bluetooth can be easy disturbed and is pretty unstable/unsecure.

Mr Dew: I still use the mobile phone from 1999, I use it maybe once a year. ok, most of the time, it’s charged and I have it taken with me but never use it :)

I am pefectly happy. it can phone, can send/receive SMS; is GSM compatible. It’s light, not big, I looooooove it! :P

  3. I also know lots of people with Bluetooth phones .. not one of them actually uses it.

I guess in theory you could sync your phone and your computer , but does anyone really need to do that very often? and to use the bluetooth headset makes one look too geeky.

2 yrs later I still love my old phone - looking through what’s new in the world of phones today, I can’t see one that I’d rather have :)

Apparently, the Gravatar guy forgot to renew his domain name or something..

and just a week after I got Gravatar’s set up on textpattern :@

  6. 7260 is a really pretty phone in my opinion. unfortunately, i know lots of others who thinks it is just plain ugly and horrible…

  8. I like the white one too, although when i saw it in person I thought it was too wide, is it a hassle to put in some pockets sometimes?

also i don’t really like the candybar phones cause i hate having to ‘unlock’ the keypad before you dial - i’m just crazy :)

  9. I do not have any blue tooth devices and am not planning to invest in Bluetooth technology anytime soon. That’s why I don’t want blue tooth, I’m a poor chap, all recruits are poor guys, hahaa…

Like Nafcom says, Bluetooth has its shortcomings. I can live with just a data cable though (due to the price). I like my current phone too, I don’t really need to change it except for the fact that it is no longer working very well already.

I don’t think the Nokia 7260 is ugly, I think it’s a pretty and pretty stylish phone. I don’t like the advertisements though. I saw it and thought that that guy looked rather, er, gay.

The black and red one is the more popular one. I am getting that one. I think the white one could have looked better.

And pketh, I do notice that Gravatars aren’t working. They haven’t been working since the last week I think. I wonder what happen to that.

  10. i think its a stylish phone too! but yeah, it is a little.. wide. but then in singapore, there aren’t many slim phones that aren’t bulky are they? too many camera phones around. nobody is bringing in minimalistic phones… =(

  11. sky: Minimalistic phones are better. I like them too. Everyone likes to carry lesser.

  12. I use Bluetooth a lot, to transfer piccies from my hp to my comp, and files to and fro. It is pretty reliable in my opinion bcos it saves me the trouble of hving to source for a card reader and then transferrig things usin e card reader.
Maybe the only irritating thing about Bluetooth is how when I’m outside, I get all these people wanting to send me weird stuff over Bluetooth. But I just hide my Bluetooth from detection and I’m fine.

  13. [...] It’s a Nokia 7260. Previously, I mentioned that I got a new phone. I have been using this phone for a while already and it is quite good and it suits my needs generally speaking. [...]
