We use chemicals like benzoyl peroxide, isotretinoin (more commonly known as Accutane) and tretinoin (Retin-A), which are supposed to work wonders, but they have their own <a href="http://www.acne.org/faq.html">side effects</a> as well. I have used benzoyl peroxide and Retin-A (prescribed by a doctor) for my acne and I must say benzoyl peroxide works best, in conjunction with "The Regimen" at www.acne.org, and is relatively cheap.
