I’ve just been told what I am supposed to do. I’m working for a research company and it seems that I have much to learn about. I don’t remember much of my metabolic pathways and stuff. I need to refresh my memory on these stuff.
There are quite a number of interns here. And the one sitting right next [which incidentally sit on the right too] is looking through hard disks prices. I am no better. I’m blogging.
I like working in Biopolis:
# It’s got good transportation services that cater to commuters who takes the MRT to Bouna Vista MRT Station and during lunch time - to Holland Village.
# The place is alive. People are all around and that makes me feel excited to start my day. Unfortunately, so are the millipedes, they’re all around and I’m not half as excited to step onto them.
# Nice landscaping. It’s not the best one around, but it keeps me in the mood to go to work. I do have to admit that a couple of plants popping out in the _(nearly)_ all-metallic Biopolis is kinda strange though.
# Good food is near. Whether it’s Makansutra’s Soulfree or Holland Village, basically I’m spoilt by choices. A staff told me that Soulfree isn’t fanstatic though.
So far, I like the place, I’ll blog about what’s in the building next time.

It’s great that you’re finally settled…except for the millipedes…ew.I hate things that crawl in general(except babies, lol). You would hear me screaming halfway across the world if one of those things crawled on me.
Don’t get caught blogging when you’re supposed to be working, lol…Does your supervisor monitor your activities online and stuff? Sometimes they can listen in on your phone conversations, too, just to make sure what you’re talking about is “work-related”.It’s an invasion of privacy,I tell you. >:0(
Is the food expensive?
If it is,is it worth it?
My college is crazy when it comes to food.Who in their right mind will pay $3.50 for one slice of pizza? Thank God I’m a commuter student, lol
oh,one litle thing-I just took my Anthropology exam this morning-I think I did okay!!
by aurora_starfire (Dec 13, 2004 at 9 PM)I like this place too. ^^
by Sof (Dec 14, 2004 at 2 AM)aurora_starfire: one-north (the plot of land that consist of biopolis and some other regions) is under some construction and the grounds trembled. So the millipedes got really scared - probably afraid that Mother Earth compacts the sands to crush their tiny bodies - and came on the cement ground. And you know how much safer these cemented grounds are. Well, probably except the fact that they get stamped on.
I doubt that my supervisor does that. But it’s better to be safe than sorry I suppose. On a side note, the person behind me is gaming, StarCraft’s the game I think. I looked at him and he shuts down immediately, hahaa.. I was curious what game was that so I looked.
The food is expensive, around SG$3.50 (US$2.12573 as of this minute). I think it has staff discount granted. The SG$4.50 (US$2.73307) chicken rice is $3.50 now. I won’t be eating your pizza though, it doesn’t come cheap. Maybe only for trying’s sake.
Congrats for your Anthropology exam! I kinda forgotten it’s defination already though.
sof: It’s a nice place generally. I like it.
by Mr. Dew (Dec 14, 2004 at 6 AM)I checked the dictionary for the defination of Anthropology, hahaa.. It says, “The scientific study of the origin, the behavior, and the physical, social, and cultural development of humans.” We don’t have this study in Singapore Polytechnic I think. I’m interested in the origin and cultural development of humans.
by Mr. Dew (Dec 14, 2004 at 6 AM)the definition alone makes me sleepy. It’s a really boring class. My professor has Powerpoint presentations for our notes and I just copy them, write a couple of side notes while she’s lecturing, then I go to sleep until I hear her click the mouse to present the next slide. It’s really sad.
by aurora_starfire (Dec 14, 2004 at 8 AM)You should get the Ghostzilla browser so it looks like you’re working, when in fact you’re surfing the net.
by Jessica (Dec 14, 2004 at 9 AM)aurora_starfire: My lecturers (we don’t have professors) did pretty much the same thing. I try to keep myself awake though. I recall this time I was sitting up straight and then i fell asleep. My head just fall backwards and it’s very painful.
What a way to keep me awake..
