We were at school playing badminton today. We’re so loyal to the school to visit it during the holidays. “We” means my girlfriend and I. Need at least 2 people to play badminton.
In our school, there’s an electronic-booking system for sports facilities. You can book them through the world wide web. But the thing is that you need 3 people’s names to book a badminton court and if you haven’t already forgotten, “we” stands for two people.

This electronic booking system is not making any sense. I mean what if I want to play a singles game. What is the other person going to do? Go to hell?

Well, he or she can entertain himself or herself with one-person squash. But wait! You need to book a squash court and you need 3 names in the electronic-booking system. And if you’re aware of the squash tradition, it’s usually a maximum of two people in the squash court.

Of course I see 3 before, but that’s the coach demanding better racket swings, not counted.

So the perfect scenario is to get 3 people to go to our beloved school together and book the badminton court then the squash court together? Well, what if my friend and I wants to play squash?

She’s the one who knows squash and the only thing I know about squash is the verb. So she says she’ll teach me that. I agreed. She got the rackets back from here friend. And we planned to play at her estate’s squash court to save the hassle from booking courts from our beloved school, not that we don’t want to see the school. You know I love the school (and the train station next to it).

It seems that the plan isn’t going to be successful either. One of the two squash courts in her condominium has been converted to a function room. And what happen to the other? It has been invaded with a table tennis table. Yes, that’s one stupid table tennis table in the squash court and my friend says squash doesn’t require a table tennis table in the court.

I never like table tennis, much less its tables. First reason, game is too fast for me, the orange balls always disappear in front of me so I can’t hit it back. Secondly, that tables seemed strangely inviting and I always wanted to nap on them. Thirdly, I rather play tennis.

I like tennis. I like the sound of tennis. The sound of serving tennis from one side to the other. The sound’s beautiful. The gameplay is beautiful. Anna Kournikova is beautiful too. But when I play the game, I figured I can’t produce the beautiful sound, I heard “tang” instead. [That sound is produced by the tennis ball hitting the fence on the opposite.] I can’t play beautifully, I manage to hit across 10% of the tennis ball only. Last but not least, my opponent is Benedict and not Anna Kournikova.

So with all the odds against me. I settled with playing badminton today. Of course, I look forward to learning squash. But we need 3 people. So, any takers, my dear school mates? Any admission number that I can fill in the online applications with?

On a side note, Microsoft is said to be upgrading all free Hotmail accounts to, not 25 MB, but – 250 MB! Now, how look is that? They’re going to have a press release for their upgrade from pathetic 2 MB e-mail to wonderful 250 MB e-mail. (That’s a 124 times more than previous!!) They did so to keep up with the challenger from Gmail and Yahoo. They offer 1 GB and 100 MB respectively.

  2. I hardly play sports of any kind. Prefer to just laze around.
Finally!! Microsoft’s gonna upgrade Hotmail account’s storage space. But they still count spam into the total storage used, unlike Yahoo.
