First things first – UWOS stand for Unix and Windows Operating Systems. It is one of the two computer modules I am taking for this semester. It has got this test coming Monday. I have yet to study it. Ernest thinks UWOS is an easy module. I never thought of it that way. We are tested on only Microsoft Windows in the coming test. I do not know much technical things about Windows. I only know how to get things done with Windows.
Xiao Juan [Yes, that's her name. I remember Jeremy using it as his nickname when we were is secondary 2!] called me on friday night.
Oh, my mother answered her call and thought that she was some sales person. She has that sales person type of sound. Very good English too.
Anyway, as I was saying, she called me.
She called me to ask about UWOS. Wrong choice. I am definitely not the best candidate for this job. I haven’t study. I do not know much. She continued and requested that I take a look at the past year exam papers, and then discuss the answers with her.
So I looked at the test. The questions are very difficult! Gosh! Questions like “List 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages of multiple NTVDMs”. NTVDM is Microsoft’s New Technology (yeah-yeah) Virtual DOS Machine.
After inspecting the questions, I called her and discussed the answers with her. I realize that we don’t really know our stuff fully. Constant cross-checks are done with the help of an extremely lousy written-by-three-Singapore-Poly-lecturers text book.
I realized that I have so many things to memorize!
After an hour and a half, she thanked me and hanged up.
Should she be the one thanking me?
Not really, in my opinion
I should have said to her, “No, I thank you. You awoken me from my dreamland called Complacency.”
I should have.
